Lots of powder, big bumps, good vibes

I first went to Mount Bohemia three years ago with a buddy, and I cannot imagine a year where I don't go back at least twice in a season. I live four-hours away, and much closer to several "normal midwest ski resorts." The drive to Boho is well worth it. There is nothing like it in the midwest. It is not a place for beginners or families, but it is an amazing experience for anyone who is at least a confident intermediate. Anybody can find a challenge with all the gladed runs, moguls, powder stashes, cliffs, rock outcroppings, and almost no boundaries. Ski where you want at your own risk. Since there is no grooming or snow making, it does get tracked up during periods with little natural snow. If you can plan your trip around fresh snowfall I recommend it. Either way this place will give you a workout. Special mention, the large outdoor hot tub, heated outdoor swimming pool, and steam room are awesome! After your legs are tired from a day of skiing, play a game of pool volleyball, or just chill in the hot tub.
A challenging resort in the midwest, great on powder days, excellent terrain, very unique atmosphere, large skiable area
Needs lift upgrades

My oh my! Believe the hype. Skied on a midweek big powder day … this place is the cat’s meow … trees, gullies, drops. Don’t bother to bring your Blue square buddies - or - spouse that skis the greens - they will hate it …and you for bringing them. Sure its not the Bird or Jackson Hole… but it’s a square mile of Heaven to explore on a powder day with no green runs or beginners or lift lines. You can plan on taking your sticks to a healer when you return home… you’ll likely scuff something serious at some point but you won’t care! You want the snow to be fresh here… thankfully that’s pretty common (as I type this the snow has already filled in my 20 runs worth of tracks and has laid out a new blanket for tomorrow). I can’t comment on housing but the Yurts are great for a quick lunch.
Great terrain, great snow, 0 frills
It’s a long dark and snowy drive from everywhere

We happened upon this place about 7 or 8 years ago. We took the kids up (the youngest being about 7). It was everything we could have hoped. Incredible glade skiing with almost no "boundaries". Just ski where you like and the bus will pick you up wherever you pop out. I can't describe how much fun it is! I didn't try the new hot tub (gross) but if you like that kind of thing it looks amazing. I love that it takes a trip to get there are is keeps most people away. :)

Stay away, overrated, unfriendly people

Believe the hype when it comes to terrain. Bohemia has legit steeps, cliffs, etc. The problem is they don't get thatich snow(relatively speaking) and the new normal mild winters rarely allows much base to build up. Bring beater skis!
Great terrain and vertical for midwest
Remote, snow base typically low.

ticket line no dedicated office! old slow lifts!!!!

This is a little oasis of legit expert skiing in the Midwest. Bring wide skis you don't mind hitting rocks with. By far the best part of this place is just being somewhere in the midwest with all the expert skiers from all over the region. It's a very large area and you can do a huge amount of exploring if you want to go looking out in the flatter areas way way out there....Or you can stay in the fall line and ski steeper areas right down to the lifts or the road. Show this little ski area some respect...if you took it and pasted it into Jackson or Snowbird, it may not be the best skiing there, but it wouldn't be a "never gets skied" thing either...If you like tight trees this place will blow your mind. If you're an expert skier in the midwest and bored to death skiing groomers everywhere you're going to be shocked when you take your first few runs here. Real snow, real terrain, real skiers...It's an oasis.
Legit expert skiing. Fun vibe.
Long drive. Snow can be funky. Thin cover at times.

I moved from Wisconsin to the Northern Rockies a few years ago and I always make an annual trip to Boho with the guys. First off, a $99 season pass is too cheap not to purchase(reciprocity with a resort 3 hours from home is the icing). The drive there sucks as it's several hours through the the woods from the nearest airport, although passengers have been known to have a road soda or two on the drive. Once there, you better have reserved a cabin or a yurt(yurts are the way to go). The nearest town is Calumet(30 mins south) and with all the snowmobile cowboys that come up to the keweenaw, you can easily find yourself without a place to stay. Worst case, you have to sleep in your car or at the hostel. Customer service is fine, as long as you're not a douche. You may be saying "This is all well and good Edmund, but how is the skiing?" While, I'm glad you asked. While Boho may not have the vertical drop of Revelstoke, you can find challenging runs no matter your skill level. Nothing is groomed, so you'll need to get your corduroy fix elsewhere. Glades and small chutes litter the whole mountain and when everything starts getting tracked out, head to the "outer limits". If you're lucky enough to get a lake effect storm, I'd hang out in the "extreme back country" all day. They do a good job of clearing out the underbrush so you don't have to worry about getting whipped by switches the whole ride down. If you follow a cleared run, you'll end up at a lift. If you stay in the woods, you'll probably come out by the road, where a short bus that plays the worst music in the world will pick you up and deliver you to the main lift. The lifts are my only beef with this place as they are slow and not dependable. There's never a line to get on the lift so I can't really complain(unless I'm swinging on a chair for an hour in -5 weather waiting to fix them). If you're looking to step up your abilities or if you miss the Rockies, Bohemia definitely hits the spot.
Best skiing in midwest, full stop
Lifts were built by the natives, hundreds of years before white man discovered the area
