Grew up as a racer on the BMR team and skied there for 15 years. I will agree anything past 11am up to 6pm on a weekend is crowded and snow tends to get soft. If quality of snow and emptiness of trail is what you want then skis during the week or early morning or night where there tends to be no lines, and nearly no people, trail are firm but not ice on the easier trails. The staff is and would gladly answer any questions, or help you with what you need. Prices on food is not the greatest but the food is good and filling. There is paid parking for the closer spots and the spot that are not paid for are filling by 8am.
All and all this is a great mountian only a handful of downsides, and most come from the number of people who ski or ride at Blue.

Simple, do not head over to Blue if you are a beginner or a brand new skier hoping to learn. This place is a magnet for injury due to the conditions and the weekend crowds. There are much better family friendly places to learn near the philly area with attentive and friendly staff (examples: bear creek and jack frost and many others). Quite frankly whether you are a beginner, intermediate, or more advanced skier, the weekends are a sheet show... you need eyes behind your head. However, Blue can be pleasant with the right conditions on the WEEK DAYS.

All I can say is, I will not be going back. The conditions were absolutely terrible, ice for what felt like the entire length of trails. Going up the lifts you can hear the constant "scraping" of all the skiers trying to get down the trails with all the ice. You expect some ice at east coast ski resorts.... But definitely not to this extent. Terrible experience. Drive the extra hour from Philly area and go to Elk or Montage instead.
On top of it, very crowded.
If the ski lodge/apres ski is more important to you, the one plus about this place is some great bar/food options with a cool atmosphere.

Lack of signs so parked at summit and had to walk down the green as a beginning. Bunny hill was poorly managed lift, someone ran into me, I got a concussion and no one helped me nor was there Tylenol at the store (only Advil which you can’t have). I have been a few times to other resorts and I cannot stress enough. Waste of money!!!!! My boyfriend who is a pro waited in the line for the lift and waited an hour!!! Craziness, so so poorly managed and expensive and will never come back

Awesome mountain but long lift lines and expensive.
I used to enjoy skiing at Blue and appreciated its generous senior ticket prices. no longer! It has gone greedy corporate. The senior daily ski discounts are gone. The lifts lines are too long and too many skiers are on the popular trails for safety. Two favorite trails, Sidewinder and Switchback, are the last to get snowmaking and as of 1/30/24 are still closed. When every trail is open the trails are numerous and varied for Pennsylvania. The highest true vertical in PA provides long runs and the runs are well-cut to take advantage of the mountain terrain. Blue is a much more interesting and varied resort to ski than Camelback.

Blue mountain went on Ikon Pass this year and is completely overcrowded. If people post about it on facebook, showing screen shots from their own webcams and expressing concerns about safety they will delete the post and block your account from even being able to see their own facebook page. They have done this to many people who are season pass holders. Corporate greed has taken over there.

Snow is fine. Very large crowd. Lift lines take forever. Fun fact if you have a midweek season pass you cannot go through the season pass lines anymore. In addition the closer parking costs money. This place used to be the best now it is a joke. Going to finish off the season but will be moving on to another mountain. Just not what it was.

Awesome place. We keep coming back (skiing more than 50 days a season so got comparison ). Terrain parks are underwhelming though and not even a park team.

Suzanne and Bobby were of great help
