Great little hill, for a challenging day on the slopes... Pełna opinia
Great place to learn to ski and for family days on the slopes. The Chalet has great food and dink to keep my family energized an warm through out the day/evening. Plenty of terrain to choose from and just like most ski hills in the midwest, the rides on the lifts are longer than the ride down the hill.... Pełna opinia
This place has been around since the 50's. Its best feature is the old chalet and tavern. The hill is steep but the runs very short. It has 2 old wooden chair lifts and a rope toe. It's WAY overpriced - It's for sure in the top 5 most expensive areas to ski in the midwest. They have a corner on the market in that area and aggressively leverage it. Ski at Granite Peak in Wausau for less and have FAR more terrain. Better yet travel up to Merrillan Wisconsin just a bit over an hour from LaCrosse and ski at Bruce Mound - it's about the same terrain (a little less steep), about the same run lengths, a very nice modern chalet, and ski for a little over 20 bucks.... As I said above, they do their best w what Ma Nature dishes. Often a bit icy but any place in the region is gonna be. Staff is friendly, nice lounge for my non-skier spouse. A bit on the spendy side but I recognize the challenges & expenses of running ski hill in SW WI.... Pełna opinia
This pathetic excuse for a ski slope is not worth the rude staff. I hadn't been to Mount La Cosse in a long time but we were visiting family in the area. We had a friend from Colombia who had never been skiing before so I called 3 months ahead to ask about lessons. I was told that they have one hour group lessons at 10am every Saturday. I asked if we needed reservations and I was told no. When we arrived they refused to give us lessons until 5pm and said they didn't even offer group lessons at 10 am. I asked if someone could just quickly show them 10 minutes of ski basics or give them some tips and they refused. I asked if we could have a discount since they had given inaccurate information and they refused. I asked if they could give us a free lift ticket or ski rental as a courtesy and they refused. I asked for the owner’s information or an address where I could send a complaint letter and they refused.... Pełna opinia
I made a long trip to explore a new place and felt quite let down when only two of the three lifts were running and only ONE beginner run was open. There were supposed to be more. There weren't. I was there. I looked. I'm in my second year of snowboarding, so I'm still between beginner to intermediate. I could not handle ANY of the blue runs here. The one green was narrow, and since all the beginners and intermediates had no other choice, I got buzzed by hot shots. The snow was packed hard and I just struggled to control my board. I've had off-days before, but this resort was so steep and out of my league that I did not enjoy the trip except for the mountain's beauty. The folks who worked there were nice enough, but I will not come back here.... Pełna opinia
One star???? Not even close! This was a pleasant surprise for us. We visited here while visiting parents in Harmony and wanted to find somewhere close to ski. After reading the reviews we were nervous about what we were going to find here. We are regular skiers, have skied most places in the Twin Cities, northern Minnesota (Lutsen) Upper Peninsula and are season pass holders at Spirit Mountain in Duluth. We enjoyed the variety of skill levels, Nastar racing and the trails were moderately groomed, not icy (it was 40 degrees out) and there were very few snowboarders. It was a fun variety; as you could be challenged if you wanted to, or ski leisurely to increase your technical skills. We would recommend this to anyone looking for a change. The view was spectacular, staff in chalet are very friendly. Nice bar area. It did get crowded at night (family night). Best time to go would be in the morning until around 3pm. Lift tickets are a little spendy, but for limited skiing in the area,it is worth the money.... Pełna opinia
As a resident of the La Crosse area I've been to this place multiple times and have held a season pass for a couple of years. Its the only place really close around here so naturally that's where most people go. To put it straight, this place sucks. The slopes are famous not for being good, but for being the iciest and most neglected in the Midwest. Nothing like falling onto some ice and ending your day in pain. Its rarely groomed. The park is cheap junk barely passable as legit terrain features, and only recently got slightly better due to a few donated quality features and park volunteers. They are reluctant to make snow or put any money into this place and charge way too much for lift tickets. When asked about this they won't give you a clear answer. The only reason the doors are still open is due to hosting the state ski racing meet and the staff knows it. After taking a lot of heat from locals they've been attempting to step their game up but too much of the same old Mt Lax antics still exist. New ownership and/or management is the only thing that will fix this place. Do yourself a favor and take a drive to a real resort. You won't regret it.... Pełna opinia
